EJECTOR PUMPS
Most houses that have some kind of facility in the basement will have an ejector pump. The purpose of an ejector pump is to pump up, or "eject", the waste water from that facility up to the main sewer line to ensure that it leaves the house. When an ejector pump fails, the facility can no longer be used until the pump is repaired.
